Last Thursday the DVSA and the Government gave the green light for driving lessons to restart from July 4th. This will mean 40,000 plus driving instructors can now return to teaching those pupils who haven’t had a lesson with an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) for over 3 months.
Driving tests will resume some kind of normal practice again, maybe with a reduced service of examiners and time slots, from July 22nd. All candidates will have had their original tests cancelled by the DVSA, but then, in date order, will get an email and asked to be invited to rebook their test again, with available times from July 22nd.
I, like all professional instructors, will restart lessons but with measures put into place to limit and minimise any spread of the virus from between instructor and pupil. For myself, I will be emailing all my pupils this coming week with the measures for pupils to read and get to know.
